Three Egyptian firms have won the She's Next competition, a joint effort of Visa and Commercial International Bank (CIB), in a celebration of female entrepreneurship. The competition, which aimed to accelerate the digital transformation of women-owned companies, received over 4,000 submissions from around Egypt.
Hadeer Shalaby of Green Fashion, Salma Tammam of Reme-D, and Nihal Ali of Fincart were named winners in a renowned award event hosted at the Hyatt Regency Cairo West. Each of the deserving winners received a $10,000 grant, as well as a year of crucial business mentoring from the United States Agency for International Development (USAID).
Visa's senior vice president and group country manager for the North Africa, Levant, and Pakistan (NALP) region, Leila Serhan, expressed Visa's satisfaction in honouring Egypt's women entrepreneurs' perseverance and forward-thinking mentality. She emphasized the necessity of enabling women-led enterprises with access to funding, mentorship, and a strong digital infrastructure for development and scalability.
As the winners begin on their entrepreneurial adventures, Visa and CIB will play a critical role in creating a climate in which these pioneering women can thrive, contributing to the general empowerment of women in the Egyptian business scene.
