The Paperboard Packaging Council (PPC) has chosen Emily Leonczyk as its new Executive Director and Vice President in a strategic move to strengthen its leadership team. Emily, a seasoned professional with considerable expertise in commercial and nonprofit association administration, adds five years of paperboard industry knowledge to her new position.

Emily joined PPC in 2018 and has served in a variety of capacities, originally as the Director of Marketing and Communications and subsequently as the Director of Operations. Her notable achievements include leading PPC's successful rebranding in 2018 and guiding the business through the COVID-19 epidemic.

"I am honoured to serve as the Executive Director and Vice President of PPC, and grateful to the entire PPC community for their support and trust," Emily said, expressing her thanks and dedication. It is my goal to listen to and respond to our members' concerns, as well as to encourage our dedicated and industrious team to elevate the industry for the benefit of everyone."

Emily highlights her focus on sustainability in her new job, supporting paperboard as a renewable and recyclable packaging material and fostering the creation of a sustainable future workforce. She promotes collaboration and aims to conduct member plant visits to better understand the different demands of PPC's membership.

"Emily's leadership and dedication have been evident throughout her time with PPC, and her background in trade association management, business development, and marketing positions her well for the new role," said PPC President Ben Markens. I am certain that her approach will propel the organization to new heights, give members with an enhanced experience, and eventually lead us into the future."

Emily’s appointment not only marks an important milestone for PPC, but it also recognizes the achievements of women in the paperboard packaging sector. Emily hopes to influence good change and encourage other women in the profession as a woman in leadership.

Emily intends to use technology, notably the newly built PPC Member Portal, to keep in touch with PPC members and stakeholders. She offers an invitation to engage in conversation, indicating her desire to interact with PPC members, stakeholders, and the larger community.

"I want to hear from our members and encourage everyone to get to know our team," Emily added. "We're here, energized, excited to try new things, and ready to increase PPC's value to all."
