In a deliberate step to strengthen its commitment to entrepreneurship and gender equality, Edinburgh Napier University (ENU) proudly announces the appointment of Professor Lynne Cadenhead as its newest Entrepreneur in Residence.

A renowned alumnus of ENU, Lynne, a seasoned entrepreneur and head of Women’s Enterprise Scotland (WES), offers over 25 years of entrepreneurial, equity investment, and policy knowledge to her alma university.

With a background in biological sciences, Professor Cadenhead has founded and scaled three successful firms. Aside from her entrepreneurial accomplishments, Lynne has been a strong champion for women in business, serving as chair of WES and Women's champion and Investor Relations Director for Tricapital Angels Limited.

Lynne will join The Royal Society's Entrepreneur in Residence program, which is an important component of ENU's Science, Industry, and Translation initiative. The program seeks to raise understanding and awareness of cutting-edge industrial science, research, and innovation in UK institutions.

Lynne Cadenhead expressed her delight, saying, "I am honoured to be taking on the role of Entrepreneur in Residence at Edinburgh Napier University. If we wish to unleash Scotland’s economic potential, we need to foster the entrepreneurial spirit throughout academics and contribute to a culture of innovation.”

Lynne's appointment, as part of ENU's aim to cultivating an inclusive entrepreneurial mentality, is viewed as a critical step toward building a supportive environment for women pursuing entrepreneurial careers.

Nick Fannin, Head of entrepreneurship at Bright Red Triangle, ENU's entrepreneurship hub, welcomed Lynne's appointment, citing her extensive personal experience in developing businesses and commitment to assisting the next generation of entrepreneurial women.

Fannin feels Lynne's skills will have a huge influence on students, faculty, and alumni as they begin on their entrepreneurial adventures, and describes her presence as a fantastic value to the university community.
