The woman in Cybersecurity Scholarship Program is an initiative taken by ESET. This is the second year of this initiative where women will be awarded $5,000 who are enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate school pursuing science, engineering, technology, and mathematics. The results will be declared on 8 March, interested students can apply now.
Minister O'Neil declared in his statement about the workforce in cybersecurity. It has never been such great where women have taken part. Programs such as ESET scholarships will attract and encourage women to pursue their careers in the technical field. Women are comprising only 15% of Australia's STEM workforce according to the Australian Bureau of Statistics.
Parvinder Walia, president of ESET APJ addressed the need for women cybersecurity forces. He explained the strength and diversity of expertise the world should have and fight together against cybercrime. He also mentioned that in cooperation with Minister O'Neil, they will encourage more women to enter the field of cybersecurity.
