FCMB introduces HERccelerate for Women Tech Entrepreneurs

A tech accelerator ‘HERccelerate’ has been introduced by First City Monument Bank (FCMB). It has been designed with an intent to empower tech startups that are led by women across Nigeria. The initiative is being driven by FCMB's SheVentures and Hub One innovation hub.

In addition, it is being executed by 8thGear Hub alongside Venture Studio. With an aim to provide tools, knowledge and networks, this accelerator is considering women entrepreneurs. It focuses on sustainable growth and access to funding.

Yemisi Edun, Managing Director at FCMB stated, “HERccelerate reflects our commitment to nurturing innovation and supporting women-owned businesses, particularly SMEs in the tech industry. We recognize the barriers these businesses face, from funding challenges to systemic biases. Through HERccelerate, we aim to create more opportunities for female-led ventures to thrive. We encourage women entrepreneurs to take advantage of this platform and drive lasting impact.”

HERccelerate applications are open and will stay open till September 30, 2024. With a target at startups led by women in like Fintech, Agritech, Healthtech, Edtech, and E-commerce, the accelerator is offering opportunities for funding as well as other rewards. It will help these women to grow in their respective sectors in tech world.
