In a recent announcement, Federal Land Development Authority (FELDA) has revealed that Datuk Dr Suzana Idayu Wati Osman has been appointed as its new director-general. Her appointment will be effective from November 5, 2024, making her the first ever female to hold such position in the company.
Founded in 1956, FELDA is a statutory body caters in the Government Relations Services industry with headquarters in Kuala Lumpur. In addition, Dr Suzana is a seasoned professional 30 years of experience in the food, agriculture, financial services, and institutional asset management industries.
She has also served in many leadership positions like Chairman, Board of Director and advisor for over 35 entities across various sectors.
The statement from the company explained, “This appointment reflects recognition of women’s roles in driving the nation’s economic development and aligns with the government’s aspiration to empower women’s participation across all sectors as a key driver towards a progressive and sustainable Malaysia.”
According to her linkedin profile, she also holds the position of a Board Member at FGV Holdings Berhad, Non-Independent Non-Executive Director at ENCORP BERHADEN, Public Interest Director at Private Pension Administrator Malaysia (PPA).
Her appointment serves as an inspiration for all the women who wants to foray into this field and pursue their dreams in management.
