GE (NYSE: GE) renewed its commitment to developing local talent in Kuwait and also assured to advance students understanding and interest in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) fields. A two-day event was organized in collaboration with INJAZ Kuwait that promotes training to foster vital skills such as problem-solving, analytical, and critical thinking and also build a solid foundation in science, technology, and innovation.
11 February was observed as the 8th International Day of Women and Girls in Science where more than 200 students from the American Creativity Academy in Kuwait. The students obtained critical knowledge with essential technology to pursue STEM fields. During the session held at GE Kuwait Technology Center (GEKTC), the students also had an h chance to interact with highly professional female role models.
Held at the Salmiya Campus, the first day of the session was a basic introduction to STEM which was followed by an interactive challenge led by INJAZ with the help of GE volunteers.
The next day was a tour of GEKTC where the students learned about new skills and technologies.
Some of the renowned female leaders were present at the event to speak about their journey and urged the students to develop their skills.
Prominent speakers such as Dana AlQattan, Sales and Proposals Manager at GEKTC, Mariam Al-Rushaid, Director, GE Kuwait Technology Center, Laila Hilal Al-Mutairi, CEO, INJAZ Kuwait, and many others marked their presence in the two-day event and explained the students about the importance of STEM.
