First All-Female Flight Lands in Iran; Marking Historic Moment

Recently an all-female flight landed at Hasheminejad International Airport in Mashhad which was operated by Aseman Airlines in a groundbreaking moment for aviation of Iran. The flight was named as ‘Iran Banoo’ (Iran Lady), marking a significant step in the history of aviation.

The first female pilot of Iran Captain Shahrazad Shams was leading the flight along with all-female crew, carrying a total of 110 female passengers. The official IRNA news agency stated, “This is the first time a women-only flight, with both female passengers and crew, lands in Mashhad.”

This event marks as a history one, coinciding with Hazrat Fatimah Zahra’s birthday which is celebrated as Mother’s Day and Women’s Day in Iran. The arrival of the flight was hailed by local media, terming it as a milestone for Iranian women. It emphasised their thriving role in the realm of aviation of Iran.

The event was also seen as a symbolic step for gender inclusivity in Iran, supporting women to have equal opportunities in areas that are always known to be male-dominated. In addition, a symbol of women’s empowerment Captain Shahrazad was also appreciated and praised for her role during the historic achievement.
