U.S. First Lady Jill Biden has begun her last solo foreign trip on which she will be visiting United Arab Emirates’ capital, Abu Dhabi. This is Jill’s first solo trip to Abu Dhabi and will consist of various discussions and visits. The primary focus of the visit is to highlight health issues faced by women, especially about cancer awareness.
Jill left from Italy for the UAE on Wednesday. In Abu Dhabi, she met with the 'Mother of the Nation' Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak Al Ketbi at the Qasr Al Bahra compound.
Jill’s visit to the UAE signifies the importance of USA’s association with the UAE.
The first lady also visited the Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi to speak about cancer and the fight against the disease. At the clinic she spoke about the need for increased emphasis on disease prevention and education. She also spoke about the need to focus on women’s health research.
Before wrapping up her impactful journey, Jill spoke about her dedication to revisiting the UAE and persisting in her support for women's health worldwide. She will soon travel to Qatar and then fly to Paris to celebrate the reopening of the historic Notre Dame Cathedral, showcasing the diverse aspects of her role.
