Former Queensland Premier Anna Bligh to Resign from Medibank Board

Anna Bligh, a non-executive director, has decided to leave the Board after the Medibank Annual General Meeting on 22 November 2023, according to an official statement released by Medibank.

Anna became a core member of the Board in December 2012 and has served on the Investment and Capital Committee, the People and Remuneration Committee, and the Risk Management Committee.

Mike Wilkins, the Chairperson of the Medibank Board expressed his thankfulness to Anna on behalf of the entire Board and Committee members for the outstanding contributions, she made to Medibank during her time as a director.

Before Medibank's initial public offering on the Australian Securities Exchange, Anna joined the Board and helped to lead the company through many circumstances like changes in the government or privatization. Anna has strong experience in public policy, healthcare, and leadership skills.

Anna has helped the company to transform from being a health insurer to a health company. She has strongly supported dealing with the COVID-19 pandemic, the strain on household budgets that occurred during the economic climate changes, and the challenging period of cybercrimes.

Mr. Mike appreciated the contributions made by Anna and wished her a great future as her experiences are invaluable.
