TAP IN! is an initiative by professionals for professionals that creates programming based on conversations with women in India and emerging markets. It was founded by two industry veterans with 20 years of combined experience in Digital and Media, Amrita Tripathi and Preetha Athrey, as well as Tech, Media, Telecom, and CPG.
This year, the team started with a pan-India survey of 100 professional women, and since then, it has held a number of 1:1 deep-dive strategy sessions with early adopters as well as seminars to help job applicants prepare for the uncertain job market.
Tap In recently hosted a training session for young leaders from marginalised groups in cooperation with the Azaadi programme that concentrated on public speaking, building one's brand, managing teams, and resolving conflict.
The initiative is designed for working women in their early and mid-career phases who need upskilling opportunities, allies, and mentorship. A specialised, distinctive experience with genuine skill development will be offered by Tap in. A discussion board, a network, and professional access to video-on-demand courses and modules on a variety of subjects, such as negotiating, public speaking, leadership, overcoming impostor syndrome, interview preparation, and much more, are included.
Preetha Athrey, co-founder of Tap in! and former Director and Head of Global Business Marketing for Twitter Asia Pacific, expresses her excitement about bringing this effort ahead. “We are driven to address the common problems career women in the country face and to help those attempting to enter a competitive environment based on the lessons I've learned from working at incredible organisations like Twitter, Airtel, Time Warner, Apollo Tyres, etc. There is no doubting the difficult situation we currently find ourselves in, thus we think this is the perfect time to network, improve your skills, and lessen the danger to your job.”
"I'm looking forward to working with and expanding this community with a laser-sharp focus on what works in a professional environment," says Tap in! founder and former Head of Global Content Partnerships at Twitter India, Amrita Tripathi. “Since we are not academics and this is not a top-down learning process, we will share knowledge, lectures, and speeches made by experts for professionals. In the future, we expect things will only become worse. There is nothing a woman can't accomplish when she has peer support, mentors, and most importantly, an enabling environment.”
