GIWA Honours Influential Women Making Global Impact as part of Greek Excellence's celebration

The Greek International Women Awards (GIWA) honour, empower, and commemorate the remarkable and significant Greek leading women whose contributions to the world have been felt. At the Hellenic Cosmos Cultural Centre in Athens on September 21, 2023, the winners of each category of the GIWA will be unveiled.

The GIWA Awards’ content is created by the accomplishments and life stories of these outstanding women, and their presence may have a big impact on how the world develops. The National Chamber of Network of Women Entrepreneurs, the City of Athens, and the Hellenic Republic Ministry of Foreign Affairs are the sponsors of the GIWA Awards.

The GIWA awards are very esteemed and fiercely contested. Five Greek-Australian women have been selected for the GIWA 2023 shortlist:

  • Dr Patricia Koromvokis, in the category of Education & Psychology
  • Nancy Katsimberis in the category of Environment & Sustainability
  • Argyro Vourdoumpa in the category of Media, Marketing, Communications
  • Dr Olga Panagiotopoulou, in the category of Science & Technology
  • Varvara Athanasiou – Ioannou in the category of Social Responsibility.

Dr. Koromvokis told Greek City Times that she is honoured to have been selected for the Greek International Women Awards (GIWA) in the category of education and psychology on a global scale and that she is appreciative of all the individuals and groups that have helped her create and carry out significant initiatives and international partnerships that demonstrate innovation in the humanities, teamwork, critical thinking, and effective communication. She concluded by wishing luck to each of the other competitors.
