With a goal to address gender and racial health disparities in North Western and Eastern Africa, the Global Healthy Living Foundation (GHLF) and Darna Center have formed a strategic alliance.

Through this partnership, we hope to address the particular problems that women in these areas confront, such as gender-based violence and unequal access to healthcare .

The Darna Center, so named since it is the Moroccan phrase for "our home," is devoted to eliminating systematic injustices that impact African women.

According to Dr. Maha Marouan, PhD, the founder of Darna Center, "There is a dire need to address the long-lasting effects of systemic inequities on the lives of African women, especially women who are affected by poverty and migrant women who face the added burden of racism and xenophobia."

Since a recent earthquake in Morocco has made it more difficult for women to receive healthcare, this relationship is especially important. Now, the National Association of Doctors is collaborating with the GHLF and Darna Center to generate vital money for medical assistance in these devastated areas.

This collaboration represents a shared dedication to solving urgent issues, increasing women's health equity in North Western and Eastern Africa, and working toward better healthcare access and outcomes for women.
