Gloria Cabutey-Adodoadji, the Head of SME & Retail Banking at Zenith Bank has suggested businesswomen to grasp the African Continental Free Trade Area agreement’s (AfCFTA) opportunities in order to expand their reach and grow their businesses in addition to ensuring their products meet export standards.

Gloria exclaims this as the Women in Business Dialogue series’ maiden edition which is organised by the Business and Financial Times held in Accra. She said, “With the arrangement, a free trade zone encompassing 54 nations with a combined GDP of US$3.4 trillion and a market of 1.3 billion people, offers a superhighway for Ghanaian businesswomen to expand their reach.”

She continued, “As you leverage on the benefits of AfCFTA, it is imperative for businesswomen to also leverage on technology. Technology empowers women entrepreneurs by providing them with the tools needed to sell online, manage finances, and keep track of business activities.”

In order to anchorage the agreement, Gloria suggests businesswomen to make sure that their products are meeting the export standards in addition to forming alliances for the sake of reducing costs and seeking guidance. To fulfil all these points, Zenith Bank comes as the first priority.

Additionally, she claims that it is important for women to become technologically advanced in order to empower them to reach a wider audience through online sales and marketing channels.
