A non-profit microfinance organisation, Grameen America has recently declared an investment $4 billion for women entrepreneurs. The investment is solely dedicated to the women entrepreneurs who belongs to financially underserved communities. The investment will be of affordable loan capital. This investment is a great step towards a better economy and will turn out to be of great help for the concerned women.
Grameen America is rising while securing its position as United States’ fastest-growing microfinance organization. The firm is providing women business owners with $1 billion in capital within a single year. The press release revealed that by the year 2023 it will reach a level of investing $5 billion/year.
The organisation was founded by Nobel peace prize receiver, Professor Muhammad Yunus in the year 2008 and since then, it has donated $4 billion for the empowerment of over 190,000 women in 27 US cities.
President & CEO of Grameen America, Andrea Jung said, “Disbursing $4 billion in loan capital stands as a monumental achievement—a testament to the dedication of our staff, members, and partners. While we take pride in this accomplishment, we recognize an ongoing and substantial need for affordable financial services on a national level."
She proudly expressed her thoughts for this achievement and said that this affordable capital investment shall put a prodigious impact on many women, their children’s lives, and community development.
