Grant Thornton releases WiB Report to Attain Gender Parity

Grant Thornton, Leading global management consulting firm which was founded in the year 1980, has published a 20-year Women in Business report, entitled as ‘Pathways to Parity: 20 Years of Women in Business Insights’ on March 13, 2024. The report discusses about the 3-ways in which businesses can increase the number of women in senior leadership roles.

With an unwavering commitment of 2 decades of researching on measuring the representation of women in senior management roles.

The 3 ways to achieve gender parity in senior management includes:

1. Assigning responsibility for diversity, equity, and inclusion (DE&I) to both a C-suite member and a female senior leader

2. Implementing a standalone DE&I strategy with measurable goals

3. Offering flexible working arrangements

Dr. (Mrs.) Ngozi Ogwo, Grant Thornton Nigeria’s Managing Partner/CEO remarked, “In today’s world, it is essential for women to be an integral part of DE&I leadership teams, as they bring unique perspectives, experiences, and insights that contribute to the creation of a more balanced, empathetic, and effective workplace culture.”

By adopting the pathways to parity outlined in our report, achieving 50% representation of women in senior management within the next five years is within reach.”

The report’s findings are collected from nearly 5,000 interviews which initiated between October and November 2023 in the presence of managing directors, chief executive officers, chairs, and other senior decision-makers from all industry sectors in mid-market businesses within 28 countries.
