GWU completes Women's Empowerment in Cybersecurity Training Course

An international training course has been completed by General Women’s Union (GWU) in an alliance with International Telecommunication Union alongside the UAE Cybersecurity Council. The course continued for 2 days and was targeted as women’s empowerment in cybersecurity governance and diplomacy.

It took place at the headquarters of GWU where H.H. Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak (Mother of the Nation), General Women’s Union Chairwoman, Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood President, and Family Development Foundation (FDF) Supreme Chairwoman chaired over the event.

Bringing participants together, the ‘International Programme for Training Women Trainers in the Arab Region and the World’ witnessed females joining from 22 Arab nations and beyond. Aiming at female cybersecurity policymakers, this project also keeps its focus on professionals active in peace and security initiatives along with technical sectors’ women who wants to improvise their abilities with an intent for advancing strategic roles in cybersecurity policy and cyber diplomacy.

During the program, the importance has also been given to required skills and facilitation techniques for women, intending to become trainers as well as leaders in the realm of national cybersecurity governance and that to in both theoretically and practically. Some of the topics that were covered during the program includes current cybersecurity threats’ overview, AI risks’ implications and many more.
