Ms Yvon Bock, the creative creator and CEO of Hegen, a premier infant goods brand, was awarded in Singapore as the EY Entrepreneur of the Year 2023. Ms Yvon won the prestigious overall prize after triumphing in the consumer products category, beating out three other significant competitors.
Dr Shi Xu, the judging panel's head and creator of Nanofilm Technologies, stressed Ms Yvon’s entrepreneurial career as being anchored in direct maternal experiences. Hegen has developed into a global brand under Ms Yvon’s leadership, influencing nursing experiences for women in 24 countries globally and pioneering technologies for children's changing requirements.
The awards event, held on November 27 at the Ritz-Carlton hotel, was attended by Manpower Minister Tan See Leng. Dr. Tan stressed the need of firms being proactive in fostering talent, advising businesses to adopt an offensive HR strategy in order to adapt to the changing nature of work.
Ms Yvon will represent Singapore at the EY World Entrepreneur of the Year award in June 2024, exhibiting Hegen's worldwide success via innovation and impact.
This year represented a watershed event in the 22-year history of the Entrepreneur of the Year awards, with all category winners being female entrepreneurs. Ms Phyllis Ong of Armstrong Industrial, Ms Althea Lim of Gushcloud International, and Ms Olive Tai of Synagie Group Asia and Europe were among them.
In addition to individual recognition, two honorary awards were given. Sunway Group of Malaysia got the EY Asean Entrepreneurial Excellence award, while Singapore-based Ho Bee Land received the EY Family Enterprise Award of Excellence. These honours recognized the perseverance, endurance, and steadfast optimism that fuel business success in a volatile economic environment.
