Under the British Business Bank's Start Up Loans initiative, First Enterprise - Enterprise Loans has granted £14,500 in funding to Nottingham-based bodywear company H.E.R Bodywear. The investment will be utilized for marketing initiatives and the development of new products, specifically tailored for women who have undergone breast cancer surgery or cosmetic breast surgery.
H.E.R Bodywear, founded by two-time breast cancer survivor Alexandra Perry, aims to address the lack of stylish and comfortable post-surgery bras available in the market. Perry's personal struggle in finding suitable bras following her own procedures, combined with her bachelor's degree in fashion management and research on the market for post-surgery bras, led her to identify a significant gap in the UK market.
The cash injection from First Enterprise - Enterprise Loans will enable H.E.R Bodywear to launch its production process and promote the final products. First Enterprise - Enterprise Loans offers government-backed loans ranging from £500 to £250,000, primarily targeting start-ups and SMEs that face challenges in securing financing from traditional high-street lenders. The organization reinvests its profits into loan funds to foster economic expansion and employment growth in local communities.
Alexandra Perry expressed her gratitude for the support provided by First Enterprise, praising the straightforward process and ongoing assistance. With the funding, Perry now has a clear objective to achieve in the next six months and feels motivated and optimistic about making a positive impact in the market. She emphasized her commitment to addressing the market need for post-surgery bras that contribute to the emotional and psychological rehabilitation of women.
Simon Mitchell, investment manager at First Enterprise - Enterprise Loans, highlighted Alexandra's personal dedication to her business plan and the organization's eagerness to support her ambition and cause. Recognizing the potential benefit to breast cancer survivors, Mitchell commended Perry's determination and expressed confidence in her abilities as the CEO of H.E.R Bodywear.
Start Up Loans recently appointed Enterprise Loans East Midlands (ELEM) as the new regional Business Support Partner (BSP) for the program. Richard Bearman, managing director of Start Up Loans, stated that businesses like H.E.R Bodywear, which go the extra mile to address persistent societal issues, reinforce their collaboration with First Enterprise. Bearman expressed pride in supporting such companies and witnessing the positive impact of perseverance and creativity.
The funding received by H.E.R Bodywear not only propels the company's growth but also signifies the ongoing commitment to meeting the needs of breast cancer survivors and improving their quality of life. As the journey of H.E.R Bodywear unfolds, it serves as a testament to the transformative power of entrepreneurship and the importance of supporting innovative ventures that make a difference in society.
