Iberdrola has launched a programme via Iberdrola Mexico, a subsidiary in Mexico. The programme entitled as ‘DestElla’ aims at fostering women empowerment as well as growth for them through sports. This pursues as a part of the firm’s commitment to equity and inclusion.
This particular programme focuses on increasing girl’s and young women’s participation in sporting activities that are hosted in schools and universities. This shall also help to improvise the female players’ community by donating sports equipment as well as training materials, gym access. In addition, it will assist athletes with high-performance by providing accommodation resources along with expenses for living at pre-competition training camps.
Iberdrola Mexico’s general manager, Katya Somohano stated, “We are proud to present DestElla, an initiative that seeks to empower women and be an engine of change to move towards a fairer and more equitable world, where everyone can develop their full potential in different areas of life.”
With the intent to push women forward in sports participation, this programme shall help out women to grow and encourage them to take part in activities that are considered as sporting ones. This will make sure gender inclusivity is there in sport too as other realms.
