In a recent announcement, International Cooperation and Development Fund (ICDF) has revealed about the establishment of microfinance fund in Eswatini in 2024, intending to assist startups that are led by women.

Taiwan ICDF deputy secretary-general Hsieh Pei-fen has reported the activities and upcoming projects of the agency at Ministry of Foreign Affairs. In addition, Taiwan ICDF is an agency that’s running foreign-aid programs and is funded by the government.

Ministry spokesman Jeff Liu said, “We evacuate together as one Chinese identity... Our motherland is China. If this isn’t cognitive warfare, then what is? China is using the incident of assisting our citizens to leave Lebanon to hype up the ‘motherland’ issue, aimed at downgrading Taiwan’s sovereign status. Taiwan will continue to work with Japan, the US and other like-minded countries to defend the rules-based international order, and maintain peace, stability and prosperity in the region.”

The microfinance fund will help women-led startups to grow and thrive towards a bigger market. They will get a better idea and understanding about the realm of business. These businesswomen will also get the opportunity to network with other industry leaders and can built good connections.
