IEEE EMBS organises International Conference & WiBME Forum

From July 15-19, 2024, 46th Annual International Conference of the IEEE Engineering in Medicine and Biology Society (EMBS) is going to take place at Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort in Florida’s Orlando, USA where biomedical engineers, clinicians, technicians, researchers and educators globally shall gather.

All these attendees are going to showcase as well as discuss the latest advancements in artificial intelligence, data science, neuroengineering, and much more. With a theme of ‘Technology and its promise for equity and access for well-health’, the event shall address the biomedical engineers’ positive impact on the society.

Some of the keynote speakers of the event includes Purang Abolmaesumi, Ph.D., University of British Columbia; Luke P. Lee, Ph.D., Harvard Medical School; Yu (Brandon) Xia, Ph.D., McGill University; Michael Khoo, Ph.D., University of Southern California; Yiwen Wang, Ph.D., Hong Kong University of Science and Technology; David E. Albert, M.D., AliveCor, Inc.; Max C. Ortiz, Ph.D., Bionics Institute and University of Melbourne; Delphine Dean, Ph.D., Clemson University; Laura Waller, Ph.D., University of California, Berkeley; and Michelle L. Oyen, Ph.D., Washington University, St. Louis.

In addition, 2024 Women in Biomedical Engineering (WiBME) Forum is also going to take place during the conference that includes a total of four keynote speakers. The forum shall spotlight the role of women in biomedical engineering and healthcare advances.

Those 4 speakers of the forum include Vanessa E. Wyche, director of NASA’s Johnson Space Center; Jennifer L. West, Ph.D., dean of engineering and applied science, University of Virginia; Meike Herget, Ph.D., founder and chief technology officer of Avails Medical Inc.; and Christine Edwards, Ph.D., electrical and biomedical engineer, Department of Defense.
