An initiative by International Finance Corporation (IFC) ‘She Wins Africa programme’ that aims at accelerating access to capital for Sub-Saharan Africa’s women-led startups, now inviting 100 selected startup owners that are led by women to take part in the program. IFC has launched this program back in 2023 at Africa CEO Forum in Ivory Coast.
This initiative shall help those women owners to succeed and understand the business dynamics as well. IFC’s dedication towards fostering gender equality through these initiatives is commendable. She Wins Africa shall launch new initiatives that includes a bootcamp to aid lead 200 pre-seed startups led by women into acceleration phase besides the investment-readiness program for those 100 participants. This bootcamp is an initiative to disclose acceleration support for further 200 women-led startups.
IFC’s director of gender and economic inclusion, Nathalie Akon Gabala says in a statement, “IFC’s She Wins Africa empowers women entrepreneurs through coaching, training, and financing, accelerating their growth and investment readiness throughout Sub-Saharan Africa. It’s time for investors to step up and fund women. A strong entrepreneurship ecosystem benefits us all.”
In addition to the mentioned initiatives above, IFC shall launch a program to create a fund consortium, gender-lens investors and venture capital firms in order to improvise women’s financial access and their businesses throughout Africa.
