Inaugural Kootenay Women in Business Summit to be held in Sept.

Inaugural Kootenay Women in Business Summit has been scheduled to take place in September 19 and 20, 2024. The event will be organised by Lynn Hiscoe, a psychotherapist at Creston’s emPoweredlives.

The summit will be held in Creston and District Community Complex. It aims at tackling certain issues and struggles that women in business face such as chronic stress to financial difficulties. By fostering a supportive community, the event gives these women the opportunity to share their experiences and strategies.

Lynn said, “One of the things that I found in individual therapy, in these intimate conversations with women, is how everything has impacted them. I'm noticing is a lot of younger women coming into business who have families, so they're dealing not only with all of the trials and tribulations of business but also with motherhood. It's taking its toll on the emotional well-being of women.”

She added, “The women who are coming to speak are doing it because they also see the benefit of being part of a bigger community. They're excited to be able to share their knowledge and their gifts.”

This summit shall feature keynote speakers and include panel discussions in addition to networking opportunities.
