Indian Women-led Startups raised $930 Million in 2024

According to the Indian Startup Funding Report 2024 by Inc42, women-led startups in India raised an impressive $930 million across 136 deals in 2024, a 93.75 per cent year-on-year increase from $480 million raised from 118 deals in 2023.

Fintech accounted for the largest percentage of capital received by women-led firms which grew by 28.7 per cent amounting to $266.91 million through 17 deals, ranked second, e-commerce followed with a market share of 22.8 per cent amounting to $212 million signing 53 deals, and enterprise tech sectors that positioned third rank saw a significant 14 per cent funding amounting to $130 million, with ranking fourth and fifth, the health tech and cleantech receiving $102.3 million and $130.93 million respectively. This growth reflects increased confidence and investment in women-led businesses, with venture capitalists showing more interest in female-led ventures.

In 2024, 13 new-age startups launched their Initial Public Offerings (IPOs), raising over Rs 29,200 crore from the stock market and Rs 29,247 crore from the cash market. These IPOs included 10 mainboard and three SME IPOs which raised nearly Rs 14,672 crore and Rs 14,574 crore in Offer for Sale (OFS) respectively.
