As part of the Indo-Pacific Economic Framework for Prosperity (IPEF) Upskilling Initiative, Salesforce, the top-ranked AI CRM, today announced that it has exceeded its goal of offering 500,000 upskilling opportunities to women, delivering over 3 million opportunities in just its first year.

In order to promote sustainable and equitable economic growth, the U.S. Department of Commerce launched the IPEF initiative in September 2022 with the goal of giving women in the Indo-Pacific region access to digital skill development and education. Upskilling opportunities have been made available by Salesforce in the Philippines, Thailand, Indonesia, India, and other countries.

The necessity of bridging the gender skills gap is highlighted by the fact that women in the Asia Pacific region only make up 25 per cent of all employment in IT and related information services, as mentioned by a study by the International Labor Organization (ILO).

Salesforce established collaborations with regional governments, public sector entities, and nonprofit organizations to offer women opportunities for upskilling. These educational opportunities were made available through Trailhead, a free online learning platform offered by Salesforce, as well as through a number of workforce development initiatives, expert-led training sessions, self-paced online courses, and certifications for positions within the Salesforce ecosystem.

Salesforce's Trailhead Academy, which collaborates with academic institutions, government agencies, and other learning centers to develop a workforce with digital skills, powers these initiatives.
