The Kosovo Women Entrepreneurs Event was organized by Pristina along with the organization of the Kosovo Women's Economic Chamber "G7" and the Women's Business Association "SHE-ERA". The event was also supported by Women for Women and the Women's Entrepreneurship Program of TEB Bank.
The objective of the event was to highlight the unequal position of women in the business sector and support them through institutional aids. The event brought together the business sector, government institutions and diplomatic representatives to lend support to the initiative.
Collaboration for advancement will create new opportunities for women entrepreneurs and contribute to the rise of women in the business sector. This event is among the first of its kind to bring together multiple stakeholders as equal partners in support of the cause.
Hykmete Bajrami, Minister of Trade and Industry, said, “These types of programs and initiatives are vital for the support and success of women entrepreneurs. The commitment of financial institutions like TEB is highly appreciated and we hope it will serve society as a good example.”
Lendita Kastrati from the Kosovo Women's Economic Chamber "G7" said: "Empowering women in the economy is a prerequisite for sustainable socio-economic development of the country. This empowerment also represents the best way to utilize their skills to significantly impact economic development, poverty reduction and increased social well-being."
On this occasion, women entrepreneurs who were part of the Women Entrepreneurs Program received the unique opportunity to be part of the training and benefit from it and the mentoring program designed for women leaders and owners of start-up and developing businesses in Pristina, Prizren, Ferizaj, Peja and Mitrovica, celebrated their graduation from the program.
In another part of the event participating women entrepreneurs got the opportunity to present their business ideas and projects in front of the business community and seek potential investors. Women founders were also given advice and recommendations by some of the country's most successful businesses.
