The Innovator Trust, a notable organisation committed to supporting innovation and entrepreneurship, has formally announced preparations for the ninth Women in Tech (Wit) Appreciation Experience. This yearly event celebrates and empowers female ICT (Information and Communication Technology) small business owners.

The event will be place on November 16, 2023, at the famed Vodacom World site in Midrand, South Africa. Wit 2023 seeks to honour and recognise the remarkable achievements of female-owned Small, Medium, and Micro-sized Enterprises (SMMEs) in the country's ICT sector.

This year's Wit event has a unique concept, urging women from all walks of life to join under the banner of the "Shevolution" movement. Shevolution's aim is to create a society in which women not only power technology, but also power technology.

The Shevolution message, created by the Innovator Trust, challenges women and society at large to use technology as a tool to advance gender equality, economic empowerment, and innovation among African women through entrepreneurship.

The programme includes essential debates about the widespread underrepresentation of women in the technology sector and the broader economy. Wit also aims to redefine the narrative around African women's roles and possibilities in the current day. To accomplish these objectives, the event will comprise a one-day programme filled with engaging dialogues, informative keynote addresses, and carefully chosen activities that highlight the unique contributions of women while challenging prevailing stereotypes.

Wit 2023 will be held in a hybrid style, with a live audience of carefully invited visitors at Vodacom World. Furthermore, the event will be streamed live to a worldwide audience, promoting involvement from spectators all around the world.

Wit 2023 virtual registration will open on September 16, 2023, and will be available until the event begins on November 16, 2023. This inclusive approach guarantees that a diverse audience may participate in the debate and join the Shevolution movement.
