The Indian Women in Dubai and Expo City 2020 collaborated with the Consulate General of Dubai to mark the International Day of Yoga in an attempt to foster global harmony and well-being.

Participants in the programme had a hands-on introduction to the historical practise of yoga at the Opportunity Pavilion at Expo City 2020. Experienced yoga teachers from the Art of Living Foundation led participants through a variety of yoga asanas, pranayama, and guided meditations during the event. The classes emphasised stress-free living and the advantages of yoga for the body, mind, and soul.

At Expo City 2020, Dr. Aman Puri, the Indian Consul General, enthusiastically took part in the International Day of Yoga activities. In his speech to the group, Dr Aman emphasised the importance of yoga on a personal and global level and urged everyone to recommit to the practise. He thanked the UAE for helping to make local activities successful and emphasised the international dimension of World Yoga Day. Dr Aman asked attendees to raise awareness of the value and advantages of yoga, saying that it is an Indian gift to humanity.

Dr. Aman emphasised the transforming nature of yoga by describing it as a way of life rather than merely a set of physical poses or asanas. In order to make the world a healthier and better place, he emphasised how yoga had a good influence on overall wellbeing and urged people to tell their friends and family about its benefits. The commemoration of the International Day of Yoga demonstrated that yoga is more than just physical exercise and incorporates a complete way of living. Yoga, which has its origins in ancient India, has developed over a long period of time and supports physical, mental, and spiritual well-being.

The founder of the Indian Women in Dubai, Reema Mahajan, expressed her happiness at the collaboration while highlighting the profound understanding that yoga offers people. Mahajan emphasised the transforming nature of the practise by emphasising how one might develop a greater awareness of oneself via practising yoga.

The Indian Consulate General in Dubai, Skyline University in Sharjah, and the Sports Council Sharjah have scheduled a larger-scale event on June 18, 2023, building on the success of current one. In order to provide yoga demonstrations, the future event hopes to attract 5,000 locals, including front-line employees and notable figures.

The Indian Women in Dubai, Expo City 2020, the Consulate General in Dubai, and the Art of Living Foundation all underlined their dedication to continuing joint initiatives to promote yoga throughout the year.
