The Mná na hÉireann Women of Ireland Empowerment Fund 2023-2026 has been created, following in the footsteps of its successful predecessor from 2019 to 2022.

In partnership with Bank of America and the Department of Rural and Community Development, this $1 million initiative aims to assist underprivileged women in transitioning into school and work.

Caroline O'Shaughnessy and Riona Feerick, two prior fund recipients, represent the program's effectiveness, having progressed from participants to project leaders with higher education network EQUAL Ireland.

The entire fund investment is now €3.2 million, with Minister of State Joe O'Brien TD applauding the initiative's significance in women's empowerment. The CEO of Bank of America Europe DAC, Fernando Vicario, stressed the commitment to investing in women and communities, emphasizing the partnership's beneficial impact.

Rethink Ireland CEO Deirdre Mortell emphasized the fund's commitment to empowering disadvantaged women via education and employment in order to break the cycle of poverty. The fund aims to achieve gender equality by addressing numerous hurdles that women experience in areas such as care, education, work, and compensation.
