Islamabad Women Gala 2024 showcased women entrepreneurs post-IWD

A Two-Day Islamabad Women Gala 2024 has been concluded on March 10, 2024. This event has been attended by many home-based artisans and a vast number of women entrepreneurs in Pakistan. The event started on March 9, 2024.

This festival was dedicated to the female workers who face various challenges in their profession due to social constraints. On March 9, several families went to Lok Virsa in Pakistan where a variety of paintings, garments, jewellery, furniture, and candles were displayed.

Amongst the women attendees, a print designer, Amber Fatima has said in a statement, “These events are very important when you are a woman entrepreneur and you are working from home. The thing is that you get to know your market when you go to such type of exhibitions. You understand the customers, you understand what pricing you should be doing.”

Additionally, a former educator turned entrepreneur, Aliya Ahsan said, “I learned this [candle-making] online during the coronavirus pandemic. And I’m feeling very happy that I’m not wasting time. Children have grown up. So, now I feel that I have time and I should not waste it.”

This festival has featured more than 130 women-managed exciting stalls. Different sort of entrepreneurs, coming from different backgrounds have participated in the event.

Saeeda Tasleem, a garment business owner from last 25 years, said, “The advantage of setting up business is that you become independent. You can buy anything of your own choice.”

Moreover, hundreds of participants had said that they enjoyed the festival and has given good remarks towards the event while expressing their gratitude for their talent and business in their respective sectors.
