US First Lady Jill Biden traveled to the United Arab Emirates on December 5, 2024, to attend the Milken Institute's Middle East and Africa Summit in Abu Dhabi, which marked the last leg of her solo foreign trip. During the trip, First Lady Biden acknowledged the cancer research and treatment improvements developed in the UAE, where she told that women's health should also be treated as a huge global issue.

During his visit, he held meetings with various key people, such as Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak Al Ketbi, the mother of the nation, a significant champion of women's rights, and also toured the Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi where she got to learn about the latest treatment programs in the UAE concerning cancer. These interactions highlighted the deepening partnership between the U.S. and the UAE and would further cement the strategic and economic ties between the two nations, from the big role of the UAE as a purchaser of Boeing aircraft to hosting American military personnel.

A personal connection to the cause of the disease was pivotal in a Biden visit, one that discussed family experience through the diseases while particularly remembering the passing of son Beau Biden to cancer of the brain. Her personal tragedy struck a chord regarding her pushing and advocacy towards cancer-related issues and women's health when conversing with multiple leaders involved in the topic.

In addition, she spent time to go see Qasr Al Hosn, the historical fort, in Abu Dhabi and devote some time for self-introspection on the preservation of heritage besides promoting peace and wisdom for the future generation.

The visit also coincided with major political developments back home, such as President Biden's pardon of his son, Hunter Biden. Jill Biden publicly supported the pardon and reiterated her commitment to advancing women's health issues as a critical element of global economic stability.

Wrapping up her visit to the UAE, Jill Biden will now head to Qatar and then Paris before returning to Washington, D.C., in a demonstration of the significance of international cooperation on healthcare and cultural issues.
