Joe Biden supports the "Brave Women" of Iran as the White House observes Nowruz

President of the United States Joe Biden stated that the United States supports the "brave women and all the residents of Iran" who are inspiring the rest of the world by standing up for their "human rights and fundamental freedoms" with conviction and bravery.

During a Nowruz celebration at the White House, Joe Biden declared that the US and its allies "continue to hold Iranian authorities responsible for their crimes against their people."

In addition, Joe Biden called for the swift return of those who have been wrongfully incarcerated anywhere in the globe, including Iran, noting that this is a primary priority for his administration.

Joe Biden and first wife Jill Biden sent their "best wishes to everyone celebrating Nowruz across the United States and around the world—from the Middle East to Central and South Asia, to the Caucasus, to Europe" in a statement made earlier.

President Joe Biden stated, "This year, Nowruz comes at a difficult moment for many families, when optimism is needed more than ever — particularly for the women of Iran who are battling for their human rights and fundamental freedoms.
