Jones County Chamber of Commerce has hosted a ‘Women In Business’ forum which was sponsored by Community Bank. The forum was organised to highlight local women and what they have achieved with regards to success.
During the event, these local businesswomen have also provided information on business development, growth and community impact. Besides, the event has encouraged women for not being afraid towards taking risks and pursuing their dreams.
Business development officer for Community Bank in Laurel, Nicki Hudson stated, “The ladies work so hard, I feel like, all around the Pine Belt, but especially in Jones County. So, we’re giving something to them that we’re able to highlight what they’ve been able to do, showing how they’ve grown their creativity, and then also say thank you to our customers. We love that we’re able to highlight some of our customers and their businesses and what they’ve been successful in.”
A panel discussion was also a part of the forum which was being moderated by Karrie Leggett-Brown of WDAM7. The panel involved three other local business owners of Jones County. The significance of the forum was high for the local businesswomen and had encouraged them to becomes empowered by rising to the top.
