The May Chidiac Foundation and Orange Jordan have announced their support for the sixth Middle East and North Africa edition of the "Women on the Frontlines 2023" conference, which will be held under the patronage of Prime Minister Dr. Bishr Al-Khasawneh.
The conference was put on by the non-profit May Chidiac Foundation, which focuses on media, journalism, democracy, and social welfare research and teaching.
Many powerful women from Jordan and the region's diverse industries attended the meeting. The conference this year focused on issues linked to artificial intelligence and women's influence on social media platforms, as well as women's engagement in technical and diplomatic professions.
Philippe Mansour, CEO of Orange Jordan, expressed the company's eagerness to support this event in line with its corporate social responsibility strategy, highlighting the various measures taken to empower women by increasing female representation and highlighting their accomplishments both within the company and in the ICT industry as a whole, along with ongoing efforts to ensure gender equality. Women make up 26.4% of Orange Jordan's workforce and 29.82% of its management positions.
Through the group's "Hello Women" project, Mansour reaffirmed the significance of increasing the participation of women in technical and digital employment. This can be done through training and hiring more women for these positions, as well as by sharing possibilities with female students majoring in tech. He said that over the previous two years, Orange Jordan had a positive influence on the lives of 6000 ladies around the kingdom, referring to them as "the heroes of change."
