Kira Best named Vice President of Sales for Chewy by Royal Canin, North America

By Royal Canin North America, Kira Best has been named the vice president of sales for Chewy. Kira shall begin reporting to Daryn Brown, Regional President of Royal Canin North America, as of June 1, 2023. A division of Mars, Inc. is Royal Canin. With the establishment of this role, the Royal Canin North America Leadership Team currently has five female executives, or around 42% of all senior leaders throughout the whole organisation.

For Chewy, one of the company's biggest clients, Kira has improved relationships in her prior position to support our mission and advance the collaboration in a mutually beneficial way.  She has also shown a talent for building relationships and finding cooperative, considerate solutions to professional problems. Kira has a fantastic development strategy in place, which includes e-commerce and career paths inside the business unit.

"I had the honour of receiving instruction from a dynamic leader who assisted in my professional growth and helped position me for success in this position. I'm excited to build on the fantastic foundation we've created with Chewy to feed more cats and dogs around the country”, Kira said.

Prior to assuming her position on the Chewy Team, Kira worked in account management (national and key accounts), retail sales, category and trade management across many retailers and categories. Kira has been a member of Royal Canin since 2015.  In addition to taking part in the 2020 cohort of the Mars Women Leading Purposefully programme and the 2021 McKinsey Black Leadership Academy, Kira assisted in leading the organization's Black Advisory Council Associate Resource Group.

Kira graduated from the Walton College of Business at the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville, AR, with a Bachelor of Science in biology and a Business Administration in marketing management with a minor in communications. Kira and her husband Gabriel reside in Phoenix, Arizona with their son Gabriel III.
