A service provider in customer management and business process outsourcing ‘Konecta’ has launched the WiTechAfrica platform, intending to promote diversity, innovation as well as excellence in the telecoms industry.

During the inaugural WiTechAfrica: Telecommunications and Datacentre Summit 2024, the platform has been launched. The summit was hosted most recently in Sandton with the theme ‘unlock opportunities, empower women, shape the future’. Aiming to facilitate collaboration between industry leaders, innovators, and entrepreneurs, the event focused on driving progress in the tech sector of Africa.

Executive strategy and business operations lead at Africa Data Centres, Wabo Majavu delivered a keynote presentation while spotlighting on the public-private partnerships’ (PPPs) importance for driving successful programmes. She also said that Africa Data Centres makes use of PPPs in order to augment its incubator programmes, establishing a sustainable portal for Africa’s tech startups. This portal has been made with an expectation to serve as a marketplace of exchange that also involves all registered startups, as per Wabo’s statement.

This particular program will not only help women for empowerment but also in terms of growth and scaling the businesses in the entrepreneurial field where females are always suppressed.
