Korea Women Entrepreneurs Association has recently inaugurated Park Chang-sook as the 11th president. On February 12, 2025, the announcement took place during the '10th and 11th Inauguration Ceremony of the Korea Women Entrepreneurs Association' at the Korea Federation of Small and Medium Enterprises in Seoul’s Yeouido.
Ministry of SMEs and Startups’ Minister Oh Youngju attended the ceremony alongside chair of the People Power Party's emergency response committee Kwon Young-se as well as lawmakers which included Na Kyung-won, Jeong Seong-ho, Lee In-sun, Jo Eun-hee, Shin Dong-wook, Kang Myeong-gu, and Oh Se-hee. Ombudsman for Industrial Convergence Promotion (the 8th president of the Korea Women Entrepreneurs Association) Han Mukyeong was also present in the event along with more than 400 guests and members.
During the ceremony, Park presented a total of five key initiatives that includes strengthening the representation of the association, global entry expansion for women-owned businesses, fostering technology-based industries that are women-focused, support systems improvisation for women-owned business development and lastly cooperation enhancement amongst female-owned businesses.
Park remarked the audience with her inaugural speech, saying “Facing low growth, low birth rates, and a prolonged domestic recession, I will take the lead so that women-owned businesses can drive Korea's crisis recovery and growth. The Korea Women Entrepreneurs Association will plant new seeds of hope for 3.26 million women-owned businesses and the Korean economy.”
Moreover, Minister Oh Youngju also enlightened with her words stating, “I hope Chairman Park Chang-sook and the Korea Women Entrepreneurs Association, along with women's economic organizations, will take the lead in driving new growth and leaps forward.”
