Kuwait Commits to Boosting Women's Representation in Positions of Power

At the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, an official said that the State of Kuwait urges women empowerment while ensuring that they were in positions of power. Sheikha Jawaher Ibrahim Al-Duaij Al-Sabah, Assistant Foreign Minister for Human Rights Affairs Ambassador, highlighted the requirement of women empowerment in society when speaking to KUNA followed by the 3rd national committee meeting to execute UNSC resolution 1325 women, peace, and security.

Ambassador Sheikha who’s also the committee’s head indicated towards the meeting’s goals which were in line with the guidelines of leadership as well as aspirations of the people. During the meeting, topics like program strengthening and politics that are aimed at protect women against violence in addition to devising proper mechanisms, were discussed.

According to her, community policing idea is also a part of the meeting’s agenda while the committee also made a celebration regarding recent feats for adding more females into the police force as well as top security administrative positions across the country. The inclusion of women into such roles can benefit in several aspects of the country. The importance of inclusion and diversity has to be known to the general public as well, in order to understand that females can contribute more than enough in leadership roles.
