Nigerian actress Temi Otedola has been appointed by L'Oréal Paris as its first African Digital Ambassador. A fashion and beauty blogger, Temi shall front a campaign which will feature L’Oréal’s Infallible Makeup Range. She shall work on women-focused initiatives of the business.
Temi recalled about her childhood when she would play with her mother’s L’Oréal lipsticks and mascaras and called the role a “real dream come true”. She will be working alongside Thuso Mbedu, a south African actress. In 2023, Thuso was also named as the French luxury giant’s international Brand Ambassador. Temi’s appointment indicates that L'Oréal Paris is moving a step ahead in order to support equality.
Taking to her Instagram, Temi wrote, “I’m truly honoured to be the first Nigerian representing L’Oréal not only across Africa but also on a global stage. This has been the hardest secret to keep for the last six months.”
Additionally, a spokesperson of L’Oréal Paris said, “This multi-talented actress, entrepreneur, and global influencer joined the L’Oréal Paris family of ambassadors embodying diversity, self-confidence and a modern vision of beauty. She is now part of this strong line-up of women who lift each other up and convey a strong statement of confidence celebrating women’s empowerment.”
