LA Lakers & Comerica Bank celebrate Shero Comics founder Shequeta L. Smith

During the Women’s Business Awards ceremony of Los Angeles Lakers and Comerica Bank have celebrated the Shero Comics founder Shequeta L. Smith as the prestigious “Woman of Diversity” Award recipient.

Founded in 1948, Los Angeles Lakers caters in the Spectator Sports industry with headquarters in El Segundo, California while specialising in Basketball. Basically, it is a professional basketball team located in Los Angeles, California being members of the National Basketball Association. In addition, Comerica Bank caters in the Banking industry, having established in 1849 with headquarters in Dallas, TX.

Shequeta L. Smith is not only the founder of Shero Comics but also the CEO of the company from the past 17 years now since 2008. She has also been a part of Imagine Impact as a Screenwriter in 2019. Some of her work experiences include The Coca-Cola Company where she worked for nearly 6 years as Market Development Manager and at 51 Minds Entertainment51 for 2 years as Production Staff. She was also honored at Lakers vs. Miami Heat game’s center court pregame in Crypto.com Arena.

Shequeta stated, “Being honored as the ‘Woman of Diversity’ by the Los Angeles Lakers and Comerica Bank is incredibly meaningful, especially during a time when Black- and female-owned businesses face significant challenges due to lack of investment and support. This recognition not only validates the mission of Shero Comics, but increased visibility like this helps us continue our work of breaking barriers and creating opportunities for the next generation.”
