Lady Ada Chukwudozie Carves History; Named Chairman of Nigeria's Commercial bank

A prominent icon in business and industrial landscape of Nigeria, Lady Ada Chukwudozie who was born in Anambra has carved history after becoming the first Igbo woman for being appointed as the Chairman of a commercial bank in Nigeria.

The appointment came after she got selected on September 18, 2024 as the Chairman of Keystone Bank that marks as a significant milestone in the realm of banking which also made her the second female bank Chairman in Nigeria after First Bank’s Ibukun Awosika.

In Ezinifite, Aguata Local Government Area of Anambra State, Ada was born on June 7, 1972 to Nze Humphrey and Mrs. Keziah Okonkwo. She pursued her education in chemical engineering from Institute of Management and Technology (IMT) Enugu where she obtained an HND.

Her appointment serves as a beacon of inspiration to all the women in Africa and other countries where women are looking forward to having a life of their own and unable to pursue their dreams because of the conservative mindset of the society.

Ada proves that she is one the leaders in the business world of Nigeria and she has become a motivation to other, in terms of contributing to the economy.
