In order to aid women entrepreneurs for succeeding in business, nearly $1 million is all set to be used by LaCloche Manitoulin Business Assistance Corporation (LAMBAC) in federal funding.

In an announcement, FedNor has revealed about its investment of $999,620 in Northern Ontario Women (NOW) program of LAMBAC. This program aims to help enterprises that are owned and led by women to start up and scale.

All the respective women can get upto $5,000 loans towards the professional’s cost as well as training services in the businesses’ growth, under the NOW program. LAMBAC-led NOW program is being supported by a total of 24 Community Futures Development Corporations in Northern Ontario. This will be a great benefit for those women who are leading or trying to scale their businesses.

In a release, executive director of LAMBAC Carolyn Campbell said, “This strong show of support from FedNor will help level the economic playing field for women entrepreneurs across Northern Ontario. The continuation of NOW will translate into support for more than 110 women-led businesses and the creation of close to 145 full-time jobs throughout the region. We are proud to spearhead this priority project that empowers women to pursue their entrepreneurial aspirations, while supporting jobs, growth and a strong economy.”
