The British Chambers of Commerce (BCC), which includes Mark Hodgkinson, CEO of Scope, Ayesha Hazarika MBE, Jude Kelly, founder and CEO of Women of the World, and Stonewall Chair Lain Anderson, has launched the BCC Workplace Equity Commission.

The group will include representatives from the UK and international Chamber networks, business leaders, and national experts who will offer their recommendations for the government and other businesses in order to advance the ED&I Agenda in the Workplace.

The intersectionality of these elements will be taken into account by the Commission as it examines workplace equity from a range of angles, including age, disability, race, gender, and LGBTQ+. Additionally, it will look at ways that employers can be helped to advance their abilities.

The BCC has created a great body of work to advance inclusivity, diversity, and equality throughout the UK economy. Initiated by the findings of a 4,000-person survey conducted as part of the BCC International Women's Day research, it consists of a three-year workplace equity campaign.

On September 19, 2023, the Commission will convene for the first time and begin its one-year investigation.

True equity in the workplace is crucial for both society and a thriving economy, according to the BCC's Director General, Shevaun Haviland. Additionally, this company aspires to provide the government and businesses with an ambitious and realistic ED&I roadmap.
