Lidl Ireland Achieves 0% Median Gap

According to the Central Statistics Office, Lidl Ireland has made a reduction on its mean gender pay gap to 5.2 percent, achieving a 0% median gap for the very first time. In 2022, the median gap has improved steadily from 4.1% to now being nearly 1/2 national average of 9.6% while reflecting pay differences at the male and female wages midpoint.

This advancement highlights the dedication and commitment of Lidl towards advancing women in leadership while fostering equity via certain initiatives that includes flexible work policies and leadership training, setting an example for global employers.

In addition, the mean pay gap of Lidl remains largely influenced by men’s higher proportion in senior roles, indicating towards the overall average hourly pay disparity.

Lidl Ireland & Northern Ireland’s Chief People Officer Ms McCleane emphasised the b achieving pay equity’s broader societal benefits stating, “We strongly believe in the positive impact that a zero gender pay gap can have, not only on our colleagues but on Ireland’s society and economy.”

This study also mentions about the retailer credits initiatives like leadership training, menopause support, and transparent appraisals for specifically creating an inclusive work environment. Some of these measures plays a part of the ongoing commitment of Lidl in eliminating gender-based pay disparities.
