Lifted Ventures-led newly launched initiative ‘The Lifted Project’ which is supported by Lloyds Bank, is creating regional growth boards in UK’s 5 cities that includes Newcastle, Edinburgh, Birmingham, Leeds and Liverpool, while offering access to make high-growth entrepreneurship for women outside of London and the South East.
The initiative, with a forward-thinking to make easy access of early-stage business support for the women of north-east, has officially announced Debra Leeves, serial entrepreneur as board chair.
Current CEO of Vertual, Debra Leeves will be leading the Newcastle-based growth board. Debra stated, “After more than 30 years leading and investing in high growth companies a quote comes to mind ‘Successful businesses are not built on passion. My mission as Regional Board Chair is to support and increase the number of women-led high growth businesses, and to work with VCs and angel investors to ensure that the flow of capital comes their way.”
The nationwide initiative has been set up by Panintelligence’s co-founder and CEO, Zandra Moore. Th firm is Leeds based award-winning business intelligence software. The initiative’s key focus is to increase the number of female-founded high-growth enterprises by 50 per cent within the span of 3 years.
Additionally, Lloyds Banking Group’s Director ESG Strategy & Programmes, Jo Clough added, “Lloyds Bank is committed to supporting and championing women entrepreneurs and helping them thrive in their business journey. We’re proud to be working with the Lifted Project in establishing the Regional Growth Boards.
