Maha Abdul Majeed Ismail Ali Al-Fahim becomes First female to join SALAMA's Board of Directors

Mrs. Maha Abdul Majeed Ismail Ali Al-Fahim got appointed as the first female and one of the board members of SALAMA, the largest provider of Shari'ah-compliant Takaful solutions in the UAE.

Islamic Arab Insurance Company (SALAMA) announced the selection of a new chairman and vice chairman to the board of directors as well as a distinguished board of directors for a term of three years following the company's annual general meeting (AGM). At the AGM, SALAMA's first female board member was also appointed.

The vice chairman position was awarded to H.E. Mohammed Ahmad Mohammed Bin Abdulaziz AlShehhi, while the chairmanship went to H.E. Saeed Mubarak Rashed Saeed Alhajeri.

The new board of directors consists of Mr. Ajit Vijay Joshi, Mrs. Maha Abdul Majeed Ismail Ali Al-Fahim, H.E. Saeed Mubarak Rashed Saeed Alhajeri, H.E. Mohammed Ahmad Mohammed Bin Abdulaziz AlShehhi, Mr. Saeed Bin Mohammad Al Qassimi, Mr. Ahmad Mohammad al Sadah, and Mr. Saeed Bin Mohammad Al Qassimi.

The UAE's efforts to advance gender diversity and advance women in leadership roles are reflected in the nomination of the first female board member of SALAMA, which is a significant milestone.

H.E. Saeed Alhajeri is honoured to serve as the new chairman of the board of directors for SALAMA. H.E. Alhajeri has over 27 years of expertise in the field of international finance and is well-known and well-respected in it. H.E. Alhajeri has knowledge of government organizations in Abu Dhabi and the United Arab Emirates, where he also sits on the board. He holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from Lewis & Clark College in the United States and is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA). He was chosen by the World Economic Forum in 2007 as one of the top 250 Young Global Leaders in recognition of his significant contributions to the public and financial sectors in the United Arab Emirates.
