Major Amie P. Feroleto becomes 1st Female Troop A Commander

Major Amie P. Feroleto has been appointed as the first female Troop A Commander on January 2, 2025. In a first of New York State Police’s 107-year history, she has become the 28th Troop A Commander, bringing a total of 22 years of service experience along with understanding across multiple Troops and roles, having advanced educational credentials, underscoring her exemplary leadership as well as dedication towards public safety.

After her appointment, Major Amie shall look after all State Police patrol while investigating operations across Western New York’s 8 countries, managing more than 400 sworn along with civilian personnel. In 2002, after beginning her career in State Police, she has steadily risen crossing the ranks one by one. Due to her diverse roles, she is armed with experiences as Uniform Trooper, Sergeant, Station Commander, Lieutenant, and Captain. Moreover, she has also served in the Professional Standards Bureau where she gained valuable experience in oversight and accountability.

Considering her academical background, she holds a Masters in Arts degree in Criminal Justice from University of Albany and a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration and Management, general from SUNY Geneseo. Furthermore, Major Amie’s career spans over in Troops A, B, D, E, H, and K that demonstrates her adaptability and wide-ranging expertise.
