By assisting more than 500,000 women entrepreneurs, Malaysia has committed itself towards the economic empowerment of women through microfinance programs that offers capital and training, intending women to grow their businesses, as per Queen of Malaysia Her Majesty Raja Zarith Sofiah.

She said that the ‘Digital Divas’ initiative has provided digital skills to 100,000 women while enabling them to progress in gig economy and e-commerce sectors. If women entrepreneurs are thriving in this sector, then the economy will be balanced and they shall get the opportunities to play in the bigger market too.

At the 2024 World Women Economic & Business Summit (WWEBS), the queen said, “We have also focused on reducing the gender pay gap through the 'Equal Pay for Equal Work' campaign that raised awareness and prompted many companies to review and rectify their compensation structures.”

“To achieve these goals, we need collaborative efforts from all sectors of society. I call upon everyone - leaders, entrepreneurs, and change-makers to join in this noble pursuit. Let us work together to build a world where every woman and girl can reach her full potential," she continued. “Through this approach, we hope to create a model of women's empowerment that is distinctly Malaysian yet globally relevant.”
