Mary Kay Champions STEM Talent on International Day of Women & Girls in Science

• Young learners explored Cosmetic Chemistry through immersive, hands-on experiments
• Discussion on STEM career goals and strategies were prime focus of the interactive session

American MLM company, Mary Kay Inc., a global advocate for women’s empowerment and education, is committed toward their mission of shaping career paths of young women in STEM through leadership and creativity. The organization celebrated the 10^th anniversary of the International Day of Women and Girls in Science on February 11.

Nichole Jones-Dooley, VP of Manufacturing North America at Mary Kay, welcomed 30 Lewisville High School Students, to Mary Kay’s R3 Manufacturing/R&D Center. An immersive facility tour, where students explored various STEM opportunities within global beauty and manufacturing industry was successfully conducted. The intricate process of creating advanced beauty formulations were outlined and applied, where student’s custom created their own Mary Kay® Unlimited Lip Gloss.

With women comprising just 35%of STEM students in higher education (UNESCO, 2020), Mary Kay takes pride in its 63% female global R&D team encouraging budding women to lead and innovate in STEM fields.
